Bitcoin.com Executive Chairman and Roger Ver joins other cryptocurrency and blockchain CEOs in campaign against victimless crimes and highlights how policing is impoverishing average people in the United States

Today the THICKREDLINE Project, an effort to support police in a blanket refusal to enforce victimless crimes, announces a major gift from Bitcoin.com Executive Chairman Roger Ver.
Roger Ver is simultaneously the epitome of the “American Dream” and the “American Nightmare” and immorality of politicians forcing police to enforce victimless crimes. Ver is arguably the world’s best-known cryptocurrency entrepreneur, philanthropist, and angel investor. He is the executive chairman of Bitcoin.com, and the world’s first angel investor in cyptocurrency startups providing early funding for some of the industry’s best known companies including: ShapeShift, Kraken, Purse.io, Coinapult, Hive, Blockchain.info and BitPay. He has given millions to charity including, famously, $1,000,000 to the Foundation for Economic Education.
While running for California State Assembly in 2000, Roger Ver was targeted by the ATF after criticizing the criminality of the agency in a debate. He became the only person in the United States to be prosecuted for the victimless crime of selling a firecracker called Pest Control Report 2000, which farmers used to scare birds from cornfields, without a license. Ver was sentenced to 10 months in prison where he was psychologically tortured. He left the US for Japan after his release and renounced his citizenship in 2014 as part of trend that continues to accelerate more than tripling in 2020 vs. 2019.
Roger Ver relates the story of his arrest and the psychological torture he endured in prison from a sadistic guard for a victimless crime.
“Roger Ver is the textbook example of how victimless crimes are impoverishing average Americans by driving innovators and businesses to other countries where they have less of a chance of being imprisoned for crimes that aren’t really crimes. Politicians are not just using the police to raise revenue on their friends and neighbors, but they are driving entrepreneurs and businesses to other countries which reduces everyone’s economic prospects.”
– Howard Lichtman, Founder – THICKREDLINE
Roger Ver joins a growing list of crypto-currency and blockchain CEOs supporting the THICKREDLINE including THICKREDLINE co-founder Matt White – CEO of Trive.News, Colin Pape – CEO of Presearch, and Kingsley Edwards, the CEO of Flote.app whose father has been in prison for 27 years of a 60 year sentence for the non-violent, victimless crime of selling a tablespoon of cocaine to a disgruntled girlfriend in the 80s. Over 10,000 people have signed a petition requesting clemency in that case which illustrates the ridiculousness, cruelty and exorbitant costs to tax payers.
Roger Ver gives real-life examples of how victimless crimes take the focus off of real crimes by relating how three different “law enforcement” agencies failed to investigate and solve the theft of over $1,000,000 in business inventory but found time to harass him over petty and illogical regulations.
“The police, judges and prosecutors that enforce victimless crime laws are the criminal aggressors. The enforcement of victimless crime laws destroys the public’s respect for public institutions such as the police. THICKREDLINE begins the process of restoring that respect for the police.” – Roger Ver
About THICKREDLINE
The Thick Red Line project is an effort to end the violence in our cities and restore respect for law enforcement by supporting their collective refusal to enforce victimless crimes and raise revenue on the population for politicians. Ending enforcement of victimless crimes would break the backs of drug cartels and human traffickers, end 60,000 SWAT team raids a year, stop the bankrupting of local businesses from lockdowns based on provenly flawed disease models, end stealth gun confiscation under the guise of “red flag laws”, save the tax payers billions, and keep millions of peaceful people out of jails and, frequently, for-profit prisons while restoring respect for the police and getting them focused on real crimes with real victims.
